When you’re a busy person who’s always on the go whether it’s running the household, prepping for business meetings or having to deal with tough clients, it’s not easy to find the time to do the things you love.
Neither does it get any easier when you have a family to take of.
But, where there is a will there’s a way.
If you’ve been desperately searching for real tips to help you find the time to work on things that you’re passionate about, that’s what you’ll find here.

First off, make a list of all the things you have to do in the day. That could be sending the kid’s off to school, cleaning the house, meeting clients, or other chores that’s on the agenda.
Whatever that may be, write it down.
Make sure to include the time frame for each task.
Once you’ve blocked out the hours that are taken up by the chores, you’ll be able to filter out things that are urgent and things that can be done at some point in the day.
Maybe you’ll notice a space between lunch where you can sit down for 10-20 minutes and start writing a post or designing an image for an old post.
Or maybe there’s time while waiting for the kids to finish school to do a bit of research and plot ideas.
Where ever there’s a ‘time gap’, make the best of it!
You might also want to check out Pomodoro which is a time management technique that breaks work into intervals.
It helps you stay focused and encourages you to complete tasks.
Just a heads up: You can also start a blog for as little as $3.95 a month (was $7.99) and get a FREE domain name, FREE SSL, and a 1-click WordPress install (you save $15-$17!) when you sign up with Bluehost. It doesn’t get better than that. See our full step-by-step guide here.
WAKE UP EARLY
This may sound like a pretty obvious thing and you might be thinking, why in the world would anyone wake up earlier than they normally would?
But your dreams aren’t going to work if you keep snoozing.
If you really want something but there’s literally no time for you to get things done in the day, waking up earlier can help.
You’ll feel less stressed and pressured when you tell yourself, this particular time is for me.
Waking up each morning will become a habit you’re grateful for.
Nothing’s better than starting off the day doing something you love.
CREATE A NIGHT TIME SCHEDULE
Although this is the option I typically follow, if you really can’t wake up early, then this is the best way to get things done.
Once the day is over and the chores are done, sit down and start typing.
It can be for an hour or two, doesn’t matter. As long as you’re working a little each day.
The only downfall to this method is that after an exhausting long day, it’s harder to concentrate and stay focused.
USE AUTOMATION TOOLS
When it comes to blogging and especially Pinterest or Instagram, it requires a lot of time.
Time which could be better spent doing other things.
Creating a pin schedule using tools like Tailwind for your site will make life a hundred time’s better.
Not only will that save you the hassle from manually pinning your images, you’ll be able to get other important tasks done.
SET A DAILY GOAL
When on the mission to get things done for your business, it’s important to set a daily goal you have to reach.
When you do this, it immediately sends out a message to your brain that reminds and pushes you to get that task done.
You won’t be tempted to start finding excuses to procrastinate.
DAILY GOALS COULD BE ON OF THESE:
- Design a new image on Canva for the blog post
- Pin the new image to Pinterest
- Brainstorm new ideas for future posts
- Reply to the newsletter email responses
It doesn’t have to be HUGE goal. Small actionable steps that you take every single day will help you become consistent.
And consistency is vital when it comes to blogging.
There you have it.
Simple and easy techniques to make time for things you really want to do.
It’s now all up to you to implement it.
Also, if you ever find yourself feeling stuck and unable to get anything done, you’ll really love this.
